Senior UX Researcher

Location
Dhaka, Bangladesh
Salary
Negotiable

What do we look for:

We are looking for a Senior UX Researcher who can turn ambiguous product problems into meaningful user understanding and actionable insights.

You will work closely with Designers, Product Managers, and clients throughout the product development lifecycle. Your role will begin before design starts—helping the team understand the problem space, identify assumptions, determine what needs to be validated, and plan the right research approach.

During design, you will remain actively involved with the team, helping identify areas of concern, validating important assumptions, conducting usability research, and helping designers improve their solutions based on evidence.

This is a hands-on, individual contributor role. We are looking for someone who is curious, analytical, adaptable, and pragmatic—someone who knows when a project requires rigorous research and when a lightweight approach is more appropriate.

What You'll Do

Before Design — Research & Discovery

  • Understand the problem, business context, users, and existing knowledge before research begins.
  • Navigate the problem space and identify key areas that require further understanding.
  • Map assumptions, unknowns, and hypotheses within the problem space.
  • Work with PMs and Designers to identify what needs to be validated before design starts.
  • Define research questions and recommend appropriate research methods.
  • Create research plans and roadmaps based on project objectives, constraints, and client requirements.
  • Help PMs estimate the resources, time, participants, and logistics required for research.
  • Identify appropriate opportunities for field visits when contextual research is required.
  • Plan and conduct field research following sound research practices.
  • Recruit and screen research participants when required.
  • Coordinate research logistics and work with PMs or other stakeholders when additional support is needed.
  • Synthesize research findings into meaningful insights rather than simply reporting observations.
  • Document and communicate findings in a format appropriate to the project—from lightweight insight summaries to structured presentations.

During Design — Research Partnership & Validation

  • Stay closely connected with Designers throughout the design process.
  • Proactively identify assumptions, risks, and areas of concern in proposed solutions.
  • Bring relevant user evidence into design discussions and challenge unsupported assumptions constructively.
  • Identify what needs to be validated before significant design decisions are made.
  • Help the team determine the right research/testing approach based on the project context.
  • Work with Designers to ensure prototypes and testing materials are appropriate for research.
  • Plan and conduct usability research to evaluate proposed solutions.
  • Recruit and screen participants for usability studies and FGDs.
  • Plan and facilitate Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) end-to-end when appropriate.
  • Work with PMs and clients to coordinate research sessions and events.
  • Analyze research findings and identify meaningful patterns, behaviors, needs, and opportunities.
  • Translate findings into clear insights and practical implications for Designers and PMs.
  • Help Designers improve solutions based on research evidence.
  • Present research findings clearly to internal teams and clients.
  • Adapt research depth, methodology, and documentation according to project requirements, timelines, risks, and client expectations.

What We're Looking For

Must Have

  • 3+ years of professional UX Research experience.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating real-world UX research case studies.
  • Strong experience in qualitative research and usability testing.
  • Hands-on experience with user interviews, contextual research, usability testing, and FGDs.
  • Ability to plan and conduct research independently from research questions through synthesis.
  • Strong participant recruitment, screening, and research facilitation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Bangla and English.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with Designers, PMs, clients, and research participants.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to distinguish between assumptions, observations, findings, and insights.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and incomplete information.
  • Ability to challenge assumptions constructively using evidence.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in Figma for collaborating with Designers, understanding user flows/prototypes, annotating findings, and creating research artifacts.
  • Proficiency in Claude or equivalent AI-assisted research workflows for research planning, synthesis, documentation, and productivity.
  • Comfortable working on-site in Dhaka, 5 days a week.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience researching Telco products or services.
  • Experience working in an agency, consulting, or multi-client environment.
  • Experience working with complex digital products or ecosystems.
  • Experience conducting research in real-world/field environments.
  • Experience presenting research directly to clients.
  • Familiarity with quantitative research, surveys, product analytics, or behavioral data.

The Kind of Researcher We Want

We value practical research thinking over rigid methodology.

You should be able to recognize when a project requires a rigorous research process and when a

lightweight approach is enough. You should care deeply about research quality without creating

unnecessary processes.

You should be:

  • Curious — naturally interested in understanding why people behave the way they do.
  • Analytical — able to identify patterns, question assumptions, and reason from evidence.
  • Adaptable — comfortable changing your approach based on the project, client, timeline, and research context.
  • Pragmatic — focused on generating useful insights rather than producing research for the sake of research.
  • Collaborative — comfortable working closely with Designers and PMs throughout the process.
  • Confident — willing to challenge assumptions when evidence suggests otherwise.
  • Client-friendly — able to build trust, communicate clearly, manage expectations, and create a positive experience for clients.

Your Portfolio Should Demonstrate

We are more interested in how you think and work than how visually polished your portfolio is.

Your portfolio should ideally include 2–3 strong end-to-end research case studies demonstrating:

Problem → Research Questions → Assumptions → Research Plan → Research Execution → Synthesis

→ Insights → Product/Design Implications

We want to understand:

  • What problem were you trying to understand?
  • What assumptions did you identify?
  • Why did you choose a particular research method?
  • How did you conduct the research?
  • What did you actually learn?
  • How did you distinguish meaningful insights from observations?
  • How did your research influence the product or design?
  • What did you do when the evidence contradicted the team's assumptions?

A portfolio does not need to be overly polished or academic. Genuine research thinking and real-world

experience matter more.

How We Define Success

Success in this role isn't measured by the number of research reports produced.

We consider you successful when:

  • The team has a clearer understanding of its users and their context.
  • Important assumptions are identified and validated at the right time.
  • Designers have stronger evidence to improve their solutions.
  • PMs can make better-informed product decisions.
  • Research is rigorous when it needs to be—and lightweight when it doesn't.
  • Clients trust your thinking, communication, and research judgment.
  • Teams enjoy working with you and feel that research genuinely improves the product development process.

A portfolio does not need to be overly polished or academic. Genuine research thinking and real-world

experience matter more.

Important

This is a fully on-site role in Dhaka, 5 days a week.

If you enjoy going beyond simply conducting interviews, can balance research rigor with practical

execution, and want to work closely with Designers, PMs, and clients to solve real product problems, we'd

love to hear from you.
